A while ago

A while ago we went to Port St Francis with Tracy's parents. Paradise does not really describe that place. Its beautiful x 1000. I surfed Anne Avenue in the morning with one other guy, and Seals beach break in the afternoon. Wasn't six foot, but surfing with less than 20 oke's always makes me smile whether its 1 or 4 foot.

Sunday afternoon surfing

So Hein came around and we went for a quick one.. which turned out to be not so quick. There were some big ones which are quite challenging especially if you consider he is riding a 9 foot 30kg board.. okay I'm guessing about the 30kg but it sure feels like it when you are carrying or trying to turn it..

Tracy took some pictures just before we left..

I took Rudi's longboard for a spin. Was nice to ride something different again.

A week later

Wedding season has begun. First one was Tracy's cousin Adin. The wedding was at a five star hotel in Summersstrand called Radison Blue.(which Im not used to ***** ) My etiquette was put to the test and according to the others, I failed miserabaly. Im not big on formal parties. This one however was quite chilled which was nice.Sundays has kind of begun to become my blogging days. Its such a beautiful day at the beach, Hein is coming to visit again at two, and im sure he would want to try his luck at the surf again. Hope the water isnt too cold..Migth post pictures a little later

To keep the memories clear

Okay so I had the idea of posting a couple of pictures of where we are staying. The point really is to remember the great times we had at 110 Bliss Bude Street..and then as I grow older (wherever in the world I might end up) have the opportunity to ride a wave down memory lane..

All of the above were taken from the lounge window..

Also this might help anyone (From abroad or more local) to get a better idea of what Port Elizabeth is like..

Early morning

So yesterday afternoon a weeks east winds came to an end, or sort of..together with some decent sized swell. Pipe was washed away so I had to drive to Millers. Was pretty good for a while seeing that we were only two guys on it for about an hour. As always, crowds started rolling in as well. Not long and there were about 25 guys on it. Not to be outdone by the crowd, a sudden North wind pitched right slap bang in the -what was supposed to be- fun session. It totally spoiled the surf which caused big bumps on waves. Not too long after that I decided it would be best if I got out.

This morning, we woke up early. Tracy is extremely busy with exams and she got up early to study. With some swell  left, I decided to get up too and maybe get some surf. It was still washed away at Pipe, so I had to get in my car and drive to Millers again. Its my favorite wave when it works. Only downside is that its always extremely crowded with longboarders. They just lie deep and steal all the set waves. And then paddle past into our insides like nothing happened.Maybe I'm generalizing.

Didnt get any good waves this morning. The water was better. It has been extremely cold the last month. In the middle of summer yes! And lots of sea life!!
